WIC Participation in Rebuilding the Traditional Houses in Nggela
On September 9th 2019 we are grateful and blessed to be able to participate in rebuilding the Traditional houses in Nggela, Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur. After a fire catastrophe that burnt to ashes 22 adat houses and 11 residential houses in their unique Adat Village. We thank Prof. Dr. Willemijn de Jong who has personal interest toward the people of Nggela. The donation was officially donated to Prof. Dr. Willemijn de Jong together with some ikat weavers in our club.
WIC Jakarta also give the ikat weavers of Nggela Village a chance to promote their textiles with a Stall at the Annual Charity Bazaar of the Women International Club in December 2019. So, that they can participate in the rebuilding of their Adat Village through selling their high quality ikat textiles at such a prominent event in Jakarta.
